4th Grade Shadows Stations

shadows1

This week at the McSpedden Library, our 4th graders will be experiencing the Engage & Explore portion of their 5E Science lesson on Shadows in stations in the library!

This is really exciting for me as these are going to be some super fun stations for learning and discovery!

Each station will have some reading, some experimenting, and some recording of learning to go with it.

The activity sheet that the students will use to record their learning on is here. The graph for students to record the data at Station 4 is here.

Station 1: Shadow Box Theater

At this station, students will engage in learning about shadows by using a shadow box and some stick puppets to explore using shadow and light! Students will read about and learn about opaque objects versus transparent objects at this station as well with the book Light and Dark.
