Turtle In Paradise  by Jennifer L. Holm is a wonderful, wonderful book that is also one of our 2011-2012 Texas Bluebonnet Books!

In this book, Turtle lives in 1935 and she finds out that she is going to have to go live with her aunt in the Florida Keys because her mother can’t have her stay with her at her new job. Turtle encounters this strange and unusual place, filled with strange and unusual people. She ends up spending most of her time with a ragtag group of boy cousins who call themselves the Diaper Gang. They take care of babies and have a special formula for diaper rash. They do all this to earn candy.

Turtle also ends up spending time with her grandmother, a cranky old woman who no one likes, but Turtle ends of bonding with. The Diaper Gang and her get in all kinds of interesting and fun situations that readers will really enjoy. There’s also a little something about some buried treasure on one of the islands, but you are just going to have to read the book to find out about that!

Check out this great book from the RBE Library!
